AVS109 Simulated Instrument Flight Training
Introduces the student to the fundamentals of approved ground trainer, an Advanced Aviation Training Device (AATD). Under the supervision of a flight instructor, the student will become familiar with basic flight instruments, attitude instrument flying, and aerodynamics related to instrument flying. Additionally, the student will learn to master the use of electronic aids to instument flying, navigation instruments, radio communication equipment, and communication procedures used in the IFR flight envirnoment. Finally, the student will become familiar with air traffic control procedures/operations including enroute, approach, and emergency procedures. (40 hours of dual simulated flight training in an approved ground trainer). Course restricted to Aviation Science Professional Pilot majors.
