RAD101 Principles of Radiologic Technology 1
This course provides an introduction to the radiologic technology profession including the discovery of X-rays, the use of radiation for medical diagnoses, regulatory agencies, professional organizations and credentialing, hospital organization, scope of practice, code of ethics and program accreditation, along with methods of basic radiation protection. The course covers the prime radiographic exposure factors and mA, kVp, time and distance; the radiographic quality factors of density and contrast, the geometric factors contributing to the radiographic image and the control of scatter radiation. The course will also cover the construction of X-ray film, the use of film in imaging and the laten image formaton.
