PSY 682 Diversity in Clinical Psychology
(3-0-3) This course surveys topics on how culture, power, oppression, and positionality influence human behavior and mental health treatment. Theory emphases include models addressing intersectionality, cross-cultural differences, and models of culturally humble intervention. Practice emphases include unique psychotherapy strategies for Black-, Asian-, and Latinx-Americans, gender and sexual minoritized individuals, and individuals within rural contexts.
