NURS 221 Fundamentals of Nursing

Fundamentals of Nursing (lecture 3 credits and lab 1credit) is a pivotal course for nursing students that lays the groundwork for essential nursing practices and theoretical understanding. This course focuses on developing core nursing competencies. Basic concepts of nutrition will be introduced. The nursing scope of practice, including the legal and ethical considerations in nursing with be discussed. By the end of the course, students will possess a foundational knowledge of nursing principles that will guide their practice in real-world settings. This course includes a hands-on skills lab component in essential nursing skills necessary for effective patient care.
