SPED 336 Social & Emotional Development & Guidance in ECE

Cross-listed with EC 336. This course involves the study of classroom management, motivation, building self-esteem, and positive discipline strategies. Students will learn about the cultural influences on child behavior, both typical and atypical. Students have opportunities to apply these techniques with groups of pre-school to grade 3 children and are encouraged to take this course when they will also be taking a field experience. This course is for educators who will teach in Birth to Third Grade classrooms. Prerequisites: EC 210, EC 211. Spring.
