ENGL 347 Global Literature of the Modern World
This course focuses on Western and non-Western literatures beginning with the period after 1650. This course chronologically traces the roots and developments of Western and nonwestern cultures reflected in representative multi-cultural texts. They are examined in their literary, historical, philosophical/religious, and socio-cultural contexts. The course concludes with a student’s creative application and demonstration. Prerequisite: Successful completion of ENGL 120; or the instructor’s approval. Spring, even years.
