HIS 5124 ECONOMIC HISTORY OF AFRICA

Africa has always been an integral part of world history through its economic interaction with the rest of the world. This course examines Africa's historical insertion in the global world-wide economic system while preserving its African character through very original institutions, actors, and practices, some of which had resisted European assimilation.
