ARH 5018 LANDSCAPE EAST AND WEST
An examination of some of the great schools of landscape painting, including those of Europe, the United States, China, Japan and Aboriginal Australia. Study of the disparate traditions will allow examination of the cultural, philosophical and literary sources of landscape art. Students will write a research paper and give an oral presentation. Prerequisite: one art history course or permission of the instructor.
