OMHR 5031 Intn'l Human Resource Mgt
This course is devoted to understanding the issues international basis to achieve corporate objectives. Students will study differences in organizational strategies, structures, policies and practices as organizations seek to maximize global performance, productivity and profitability while retaining high levels of engagement and morale. As related to Human Resource Management, emphasis will be placed on the integration of corporate and national cultures and on maintaining a balance between control and autonomy in decision making. Specific topics of interest will be international mergers and acquisitions, international employment laws, and global staffing, including the management of outsourced operations and expatriates.
