HIS 3103 Topics in Modern Irish History
This course will address a topic of central importance to modern Irish history. Such a topic might include, for example, the potato famine, emigration, religion and society, nationalism and revolution, literature and politics, the Northern Ireland troubles, the origins and progress of the Celtic Tiger, etc. A major focus of the course will be to introduce students to comparative methods and the variety of approaches used in the research and writing of history.
