Oil and Gas Industry Specialization (PTRT)
The Oil & Gas Specialization program is designed to provide instruction for entry into the Oil & Gas Industry. The program awards two certificates: Oil & Gas Production Specialization 1 (1 semester) and Oil & Gas Production Specialization 2 (1 year). The courses in the program are intended to prepare students for a career in the Oil & Gas Industry. Program curriculum will prepare students for the following positions: Roustabouts, Lease Operators, Wellhead pumpers, and Oil & Gas production operator.
Program graduates will be well versed in oil & gas production systems and other crucial areas involved in the extraction and preparation of oil and gas. The program includes a cooperative learning course that is intended to provide students with valuable field experience and first hand industry knowledge of an actual work site.
