MUS 368 Bob Dylan: American Bard
Students will examine the musical, cultural, and historical significance of the works of Bob Dylan, spanning the last six decades. Students will approach Dylan’s song catalog through an interdisciplinary lens, encompassing musicology, ethnomusicology, cultural history, political history, gender studies, and literature. Students will investigate the eclectic influences on Dylan the songwriter and the ways in which his work has, in turn, profoundly influenced American culture for over half a century.
