MUS 269 Mozart - Sense and Sensibility

Students will examine the musical, cultural, and historical significance of the works of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, works which embody the mastery of craft (“sense”) and expressivity (“sensibility”). Students will approach Mozart and his works through an interdisciplinary lens, encompassing musicology, cultural history, political history; musical instrument design, construction, and tuning; literature, religion, as well as forays into questions of gender and race.
