GOVT 425 Global Perspectives on American Federalism
More than 41 percent of the world’s people live in federal countries. Because the United States was the first, it has been the main global model, but innovations in newer federations highlight strengths and weaknesses of American federalism. This course brings global perspectives to bear on the covenantal origins and constitutional theories of American federalism; historical transformations; legal, political, administrative, and fiscal facets of intergovernmental dynamics; and impacts of federalism on crucial policy issues.
