The major movements following symbolism are studied in historical context and in the works of such authors as Gide, Proust, Apollinaire, Breton, Mauriac, Colette, Malraux, Sartre, Camus, Ionesco, Robbe-Grillet, Queneau, Perec, Barthes, Kristeva, Ernaux, and Derrida.
