NURS 4007 PREPARATION FOR PROFESSIONAL NURSING PRACTICE
In this final capstone course, students synthesize knowledge from the liberal arts, along with nursing theory and practice gained throughout their baccalaureate education, in preparation for transition to the role of the professional baccalaureate-prepared nurse. Topics include exploration of career options within nursing, goal setting through the creation of a professional development plan, membership in professional nursing organizations, addressing workplace incivility, and holistic self-care. Students will produce a submission-ready curriculum vitae and will begin the search for post-graduation employment and/or graduate nursing education with the assistance from the School of Nursing faculty/staff. Review of program content will be offered as preparation for the NCLEX licensure exam.
