INTERPRETING INQUIRY TEXT I Course Number: CDD 3310 Semester Hours: Three (3) Prerequisites: Acceptance into the program Co-requisites: CDD 3120 ASL for Community Interpreting CDD 3130 Ethics, Issues & Practice CDD 3140 ASL/Interpreting Lab I CDD 3150 Research Design for Interpreters Limitations on Enrollment: 12 CATALOG DESCRIPTION: Interactive interpreting and translation skills are developed for use primarily in healthcare and social services. Includes discourse mapping, memory and lag time, turn-taking, cultural interactions, conversational styles, and miscue analysis. N.B. In order to ensure full class participation, any student with a disabling condition requiring special accomodations (e.g., interpreter, special adaptive eqipment, notetaking services or modified test-taking procedures) in strongly encouraged to contact the professor at the beginning of the course.
