(Contact Hours: 4) This course will focus on early childhood numerical and spatial reasoning while developing effective teaching strategies. Students will learn to create, interpret, and extend early number concepts with place value, as well as explore measurement and early geometric concepts. Pedagogical emphasis will be placed on developing situations and interactions that engage students in content in order to create representations that reflect an understanding of early childhood cognitive reasoning.
