BUS 102 Math for Business & Industry
(Contact Hours: 4) This course is a practical application of mathematics to the problems of business and industry including percentage, simple interest and discounts, averages, compound interest, and commission. Units of the course will cover depreciation, payroll, taxes, tables, and charts. PREREQUISITE: Writing -- minimum benchmarks will be enforced; Reading -- SAT: 18, Accuplacer: 34, NextGen Accuplacer: 214, ACT: 12, COMPASS: 53, or ENG 079 or TRS 096 is REQUIRED; and Math -- SAT: 23.5, ALEKS: 14, Accuplacer (Arithmetic): 80, NextGen Accuplacer (Arithmetic): 260, ACT: 18, COMPASS (PreAlgebra): 50, or MATH 094 is REQUIRED.
