CRJ 704 Probation and Parole: Theory and Practice

Examines the rationales for and the methods of supervising convicted offenders within communities. Considers problems arising in pre-sentence investigations, case-load assignments, providing support services and facilities, revocation hearings, predicting future behavior and coordinating with other social control agencies.

An undergraduate course in criminology, or permission of the instructor; Graduate program in Criminal Justice, or matriculation in the MPA (Public Policy and Administration) with a concentration in Criminal Justice Policy Administration Prerequisite: Any one Criminal Justice course
