Police, Fire, Correction Officers, Court Officers, and Other Public Safety Employees
Police officers, firefighters, emergency medical services personnel, correction officers and court officers are encouraged to apply directly to the College for admission. These prospective students are admitted to the College based on their academy training. Those employed in criminal justice and other designated public safety agencies should apply for admission directly to the College at https://new.jjay.cuny.edu/admissions/service-nypd-doc-fdny-students.

Graduates of the New York City Police Academy, the New York City Fire Academy or the New York City Correction Academy may be exempted from a portion of the College’s general education requirements with evidence that they have earned at least 28 college credits in liberal arts.
