LIT 142 Science Fiction, Science Fact
3 hours
This course investigates the relationship between science fiction and science fact. Students will study science fiction literature side by side with nonfiction science writing to explore how even the most fantastic stories grapple with real-world issues of science and justice. By depicting our wildest dreams and deepest fears about where technology is leading us, sci-fi often predicts scientific achievements, critiques unethical science, explores the implications of new discoveries, and imagines radical solutions to social problems.
