ISP 248 Getting Even: Forgiveness and Revenge for Individuals and Society

In the playground, bedroom, and battlefield, the values of forgiveness and revenge are fundamental to formal and informal resolutions of conflict in different times and places. This interdisciplinary General Education course in the "Individual and Society" area will draw on a variety of texts in the humanities and social sciences to explore the ethical imperatives and practical costs and benefits of seeking justice through forgiveness revenge or a combination of the two.
