ARET2185 Semiconductor Career Exploration Internship

This internship requires the student to have a job offer from the supporting company which aligns with the course requirements. The college/program will not find the internship for the student. In this internship, the student will be exposed to a number of career pathways within the semiconductor field. Students will shadow various personnel at the company, receive appropriate training in related safety procedures, complete a related project, and present that project to company personnel.

Learning Outcomes

The following outcomes will be addressed in the course:
Explain various technician roles in the semiconductor field
Additional specific goals of this course will be defined in the 'Internship Agreement' signed by the student, employer and instructor and will be tailored to the experiences available at the internship site

Course Scheduling

The scheduled hours of instruction include sixteen hours for each lecture credit, thirty-two hours for each lab credit, and forty hours for each credit of supervised occupational experience (SOE).  Lecture credit may include formal or impromptu lectures, demonstrations, or discussions with the entire class or with small groups or individuals.  Refer to the Course Credits section of this course outline for the credit breakdown.
