HST 3930 LGBTQ HISTORY IN THE UNITED STATES

This course follows the historical experiences of people in the United States now sometimes called “homosexual,” “lesbian,” “gay,” “bisexual,” “trans,” “queer,” and explores how and why those experiences changed over time. In particular, it focuses on the key factors that have affected their experiences. While some attention will be paid to earlier periods, the course will focus primarily on events of the twentieth century, and students will do a project related to post-1950 history.
