GER 371 MEDIA IN GERMANY
Germany has always played a key role in our understanding and use of media, ranging from Gutenberg’s printing press, Hans and Sophie Scholl’s anti-war leaflets, to the recent NetzDG, a law that forces social media sites to delete offensive user posts. In this course, we will take a closer look at Germany’s recent media landscape. Questions to be considered: How is media used in Germany? What are some specific German media formats? How is Germany representing itself via media? How is Germany represented by others?
