Both the Bachelor of Arts and the Bachelor of Science degrees in Biology require the following core courses:
Students not placed in MTH 220 or STS 212 will need to take MTH 110 prior to taking MTH 220 or STS 212.
Select one Integrative Biology elective course from the list below: 4sh
In addition, a required experiential component selected from one of the following:
(a) internship
(b) research

A Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Biology: Integrative Biology requires the following courses:

Select 20 semester hours of 200-400 level biology electives from the following list:
Four semester hours of the electives can be any 200-400 level biology elective. Four semester hours must be completed from the Biotechnology/Molecular Biology concentration elective list below: 20 sh
Biotechnology/Molecular Biology Electives:
- Four of these 8 hours can be any 200-400 level biology elective.
- Students may count up to 4 semester hours of BIO 499.
- Students may count up to 8 semester hours from special topics Seminars (non-lab BIO courses at the 300-400 level).
- Students may count up to 8 semester hours from 200 level BIO elective courses,
- Students cannot count both 200-300 level courses of the same topic (Biochemistry, Anatomy, Microbiology) toward elective credits.

A Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Biology: Foundations for Medical Sciences

Students can pursue one of two directions within this concentration:
- Human or Veterinary Medical
- Disciplines or Allied Health or Therapy
Human or Veterinary disciplines: 16 sh
Allied Health or Therapy disciplines: 8 sh

In addition, students are to complete 16 semester hours for Human or Veterinary Medical disciplines, or 24 semester hours for Allied Health or Therapy disciplines of 200-400 level biology electives listed below.
Four of the elective semester hours can be any 200-400 level biology elective (Required courses cannot be counted as electives.): 16 sh or 24 sh
