BUAD 423 E-Commerce

The advent of the Internet and the World Wide Web has had a profound effect on all aspects of the way a firm conducts its business.  This new way of conducting business has changed the way a firm generates and delivers value, and the way it finds customers and creates markets.  With this in mind, this course is intended to help students develop a broad understanding of the driving forces behind the expanding field of e-commerce: technology change, business development, and social issues. This course will explore areas in e-commerce as it relates to: business models and concepts; Infrastructure; the Presence and impacts of Web Sites, Mobile Sites, and Apps; Security and Payment Systems; Marketing and Advertising Concepts; and Ethical, Social and Political Issues.
