Undergraduate Edition 2016-2017

AVI 350 Advanced Aerodynamics

Advanced study of the theories of flight and flight factors, including airfoil shape, drag, velocity, lift and thrust, stability, and control. The student will learn advanced principles of performance, including capabilities and limitations, performance and design criteria, load factors, weight and balance charts, comparative analysis of aircraft, and aircraft certification. Also, the course will cover aerodynamic performance of aircraft powered by reciprocating, turboprop, and jet turbine engines, as well as rotorcraft theory.
