OT 4115 Occupations in Mental Health and Wellness

Second in a two-semester series, building on the foundational psychosocial skills gained in the first course. Application of occupation-centered assessments and intensive interventions in psychosocial settings. Includes advocacy, education, and group facilitation as key modes of OT intervention within psychosocial and behavioral health practice settings. Students apply psychosocial theories, assessments and interventions to meet the unique needs of individuals, groups, and populations experiencing psychosocial impacts on their occupations. Explores the historical, political and attitudinal influences on participation in occupation - 3 lecture hours. Prerequisites: OT 4015/OTL 4015.
