PSY 3029 Visual & Auditory Illusions

A primer of visual processing, this course introduces the reasons and theories for why we sometimes don't always see what is actually there. Mechanisms responsible for visual illusions ranging from physiological to environmental/contextual to cultural will be discussed. Several examples of illusions will be presented, both with their explanations and how to create them.
