Student Classifications

If you have completed college-level, non-developmental semester hours, you are classified as follows:

Freshman: First-year student who has completed or less than 30 semester credit hours.
Sophomore: Second-year student who has completed the equivalent of one year of full-time undergraduate work; that is, at least 30 semester credit hours and not more than 72 semester credit hours earned.
Unclassified: More than 72 semester hours earned; no associate degree.
Associate Degree: Previously earned associate degree.
Baccalaureate or Above: Previously earned a baccalaureate or above degree.
