On the Associate of Arts, Associate of Arts in Teaching, Associate of Applied Science, and certificates, there may be certain specializations in the division for which a package of courses is recommended. If Del Mar College does not offer a desired major, or if the student has not selected a specialization/major, Del Mar offers a multidisciplinary Liberal Arts degree. The multidisciplinary Liberal Arts degree equips students with coursework and skills optimal for transfer to the widest number of in-state and out-of-state institutions, while allowing for a small number of electives based on student educational and career interest. All students should work with an academic advisor or career counselor to select an appropriate major and to ensure their coursework aligns for transfer to a 4-year institution.
On the Associate of Applied Science degree and certificate, all students who seek transfer should work with an academic advisor or career counselor to select an appropriate major and to ensure their coursework aligns for transfer to a 4-year institution.
