Nursing – Practical, Intermediate Technical Certificate

Provide safe, compassionate, and culturally sensitive nursing care while demonstrating accountability, integrity, and ethical/legal practice within the scope of the practical nurse.

Collaborate effectively with patients, families, peers, and the interprofessional team to promote safe, quality outcomes and support a culture of respect.

Apply the nursing process, current evidence, and the NCSBN Clinical Judgment Model to prioritize care, make safe decisions, and implement timely interventions.

Integrate safety principles, infection control, and quality improvement strategies to minimize risk of harm, report errors or near misses, and participate in system improvements.

Use technology and electronic health records to document care, retrieve information, and support safe, effective nursing practice.

  • Applicants must be able to meet the mental and physical eligibility requirements.
  • Must be 18 or older to apply
  • All required Math, Nursing, and Science courses must be taken within 5 years of the application deadline to count toward the application scoresheet, program acceptance, and program completion.

  • TEAS of at least 58.7%, taken within six months of application submission

  • Upon acceptance into the Practical Nursing program, students must successfully complete each of the following first-semester courses with a GPA of at least 2.5 and a "C" or better:
