BNS 295 Foundations of Behavioral Neuroscience

An overview of the neurological mechanisms that underlie human and non-human behavior. This course begins with a detailed study of neuroanatomy, neurophysiology, and neurochemistry. Neurodevelopment, neuroendocrinology, and psychopharmacology are also discussed. Processes occurring at the cellular and physiological levels are then related to specific behaviors, such as vision, sleep, reproduction, emotion, as well as neurological and psychological disorders. Laboratory work is required. Not open to students with credit for PSY 295.
