BIO 352 Physiology of Becoming Batman

Exercise physiology is the study of the human body systems’ responses to the stress of exercise, specifically the cardiovascular, musculoskeletal, respiratory and nervous systems with input from genetics and hormones. The body, like most machines, performs best when provided with optimal conditions including training environment and nutritional supplies. In this course we will explore the conditions necessary to be good at many physical feats without being great at any of them. Through understanding of physiological principles, experimental design, and written and oral communication students will develop and communicate ideas about how to “become Batman,” a superhero by training and not super-human powers.
