BIO 305 Microevolution and Speciation
An in-depth study of the modern theory of evolution with a particular focus on microevolutionary processes and speciation. Topics include the agents and patterns of evolutionary change that characterize populations and may lead to the evolution of new species. Specific topics covered include population genetics, adaptation, sexual selection, kin selection, genomic evolution, evo-devo, and mechanisms of speciation. Discussion of papers from the primary literature is emphasized.
