JLI 202 Community Action for Social Justice
This course is designed for Central students who have been accepted into the JLI Scholar program and who have completed JLI 101. The Scholar program is designed to cultivate students' understanding of the roots of injustice, while also fostering and nurturing efforts to eliminate it. Students will learn how to apply principles and concepts of social justice through community project-based learning. In partnership with the Center for Community Engagement and Social Research (CCESR), scholars will develop impactful initiatives with local organizations. In addition, students will identify a social justice issue on Central's campus and will work together to create and implement a plan for helping to address the issue. May be taken for up to 6 credits.
