ML 200 Pop Culture and Global Perspectives
Explore the world of global pop culture through the lens of a modern language taught in the Department of Modern Languages and Cultures. This course explores the music, film, television, fashion, social media, art, and digital trends that both shape and mirror contemporary societies within the cultural context of a specific modern language. Each offering of the course spotlights a different culture where the language is spoken. By analyzing a variety of cultural artifacts, students will gain insight into how pop culture serves as a mirror of identity, values, and global interconnectedness.
The course is taught in English and is open to students from all disciplines. No prior knowledge of a modern language is required, though an interest in global cultures is encouraged.
