Course Requirements
Students are required to complete the coursework for either the Applied Brewing track or the Brewing Management track. Four courses are required for both tracks.
Applied Brewing Track Courses
BREW 220 | Introduction to Brewing & Fermentation | 3 |
BREW 221 | Advanced Brewing and Fermentation | 3 |
Equipment Course - TAKE ONE
Take one of the following courses. This requirement must be complete prior to taking BREW 220.
Brewing Management Track
Take four classes specific to the Brewing Management class. ACCT 207 or 210; BSAD 310; BSAD 413 or 425; and BSAD 427.
Internships
Approved internships consisting of 2-3 credit hours may be substituted for BIOL 217 (Applied track only), HIST 2XX (Applied track only), BSAD 425, OR BSAD 427.
Required Courses for both tracks
The following requirements must be taken for both the Applied Brewing and Brewing Management tracks. This includes an introductory gateway course and a final capstone course, as well as an entrepreneurship course and either an ecology or history and sociology course. Approved Internships (BREW 395) can be substituted for certain course requirements.
Note: The History and Sociology of Brewing class is still in development.
