LETA 2255 POLICE STUDIES INTEGRATION SEMINAR
This course explores ethics, cultural perspectives, health, and wellness in criminal justice, emphasizing both individual and organizational viewpoints. Students will examine ethical decision-making in law enforcement and policymaking, professionalism, peace officer liability, and cultural awareness to strengthen communication across diverse communities. The course also addresses health concepts essential to law enforcement performance, with a focus on understanding stress, critical incident response, and survival reactions. Students will develop strategies for managing stress through self-awareness, peer and family support, healthy coping practices, and self-care, equipping them to prevent negative psychological impacts and sustain effectiveness in their careers.
