THE 362 CORSETS AND CRINOLINES

An exploration of corsets and related historical underpinnings. Students will investigate the social, economic, and political significance of corsets in Western fashion and create their own corsets using traditional and non-traditional techniques and materials. Emphasis will be placed on the myths, controversies, and symbolism of these silhouette-altering undergarments.
