MUS 230 THE DAY BEYONCE TURNED BLACK

A study of Beyonce’s discography sets the foundation for discussing power and agency within American racial, class, gender, and sexual identities. This course explores how music showcases intersecting identities in order to ask how we can learn about different American experiences through music. Emphasis on listening and descriptive analysis. Prior musical training is not required.
