MUAP 4188 Advanced Music Therapy Practicum
Upper-division Music Therapy students see individual clients on a weekly basis in the UIW Music Therapy Services Center. Music Therapy students function as a primary music therapist, under the direct supervision of a Board-Certified Music Therapist, and also receive weekly individualized supervision. Students are responsible for all paperwork required in the clinical setting. One semester of this course is required for Music Therapy majors, and each additional semester provides supplemental clinical training hours. Students are eligible to take this course after the completion of their Music Therapy Methods and Practicum courses. This course requires one hour for the therapy session and one hour for supervision, which are arranged with the clinic and the instructor.
