Readmission
Students who have not been actively enrolled in university courses and wish to return must complete a Graduate Readmission Application for review. Previous admission to a graduate program does not guarantee readmission to that program.
Master’s and doctoral level students returning to University of the Incarnate Word who have attended other institutions of higher education since they were last enrolled at UIW must submit an official transcript from each institution. Eligibility for readmission of any former student depends on the student’s academic status at the end of the last UIW semester of enrollment and performance on any subsequent college or university work attempted.
A student is considered inactive due to the following reasons:
- Student has not been enrolled for more than two semesters.
- Student withdrew from the university.
- Student was academically dismissed.
- Student was on an approved leave of absence.
Students who are readmitted should expect to meet the published degree requirements in place at the point of their re-entry. Courses older than seven (7) years at the time of re-matriculation cannot be used toward the degree, except with prior written approval from the program director and the Director of Graduate Studies at the time of readmission.
