PSY 364 Disability Issues

This course is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of disability as a social, cultural, and political phenomenon. This course aims to raise awareness, challenge assumptions, and promote inclusive practices for individuals with disabilities in various aspects of life. The course will explore the historical context of disability, examining how societal attitudes towards disability have evolved. Students will critically analyze the social model of disability, which emphasizes the role of society in creating barriers and exclusion for individuals with disabilities, as opposed to a focus on individual impairments.
