Graduate Certificates
The College of Education at Wilmington University offers certificates in specific areas that either provide a Wilmington University Graduate Certificate or Wilmington University Certificate of Advanced Studies. Some certificates (but not all) are approved for Delaware Certification.
Wilmington University Graduate Certificates (This certificate requires an undergraduate degree in the field.)

• Applied Technology in Education
Wilmington University Certificate of Advanced Study (this certificate requires a graduate degree in the field)
• Elementary and Secondary School Counseling
Certificates Approved for Certification by the Delaware Department of Education (These certificates require a valid teaching license.)
• Gifted and Talented Education
• ESOL Literacy
• Reading Specialist
• Special Education: Early Childhood/Exceptional Children
• Special Education: Teacher of Students with Disabilities K-12
• Special Education: Teacher of Students with Autism/Severe Disabilities
Candidates pursuing a Delaware Certification program must hold a valid, current DE initial teaching license as well as content-area certification. In some cases, additional Praxis II examinations may also be required. Full descriptions of certification areas and required assessments can be found within the Certificate Programs. All candidates for these certificates are required to register for MED 6102 e-Folio (0 credits) as the first “course” in each program.
