DPT 7313 Foundational Sciences 5
Fifth in the Foundational Sciences sequence, this course focuses on the study of foundational sciences related to more complex patients/clients, and the impact of healthcare evaluations and interventions on structures and function in all developmental stages. Topics are integrated closely with client cases in Physical Therapy Reasoning and Patient/Client Management. The course will emphasize the basic and clinical sciences: anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology, and pharmacology. The foundational sciences content will focus on normal movement and factors creating movement dysfunctions across the lifespan as it relates to: 1) immune system dysfunction, 2) burns, 3) wounds, 4) amputations, 5) energy deficiency, 6) breast cancer, and 7) pregnancy.
Prerequisite
Enrolled full-time in the professional program with satisfactory completion of all course work to date.
