EDUC 3327 Developing/Fluent Reader

This course examines the relationships among phonological awareness, phonic decoding, spelling, accurate and automatic word recognition, and text reading fluency. Students will learn to use data to inform and differentiate literacy instruction. Emphasis will be placed on the alphabetic principle, evidenced-based instruction, and the developmental progression of phonological skill, printed word recognition, spelling, and reading fluency. This is the second course in the sequence of four for the reading minor. Prerequisite course is EDUC 3307
