HIST 4360 Topics in Middle Eastern History
This course will be an umbrella for courses surveying the ancient, medieval and modern history of the Middle East thematically and topically. Themes examined in this course will address how the different factors, political, social, economic, religion and religious identities, gender, colonialism, nationalism and revolution, and lastly international intervention have shaped and molded the region's history. The topics in the course will examine different periods in the history of the region from the rise of Islam to the present times.
